Pieces of Herself : Juliet Davis

Pieces of herself

Pieces of Herself

Recently exhibited at the Tampa Museum of Art and Dallas 500X, Pieces of herself explores embodiment and feminine identity in relationship to public and private space and symbolic language. Using a game interface with drag-and-drop icons, it encourages viewers to explore familiar environments (e.g., domestic, outdoor, work) with the task of retrieving and creatively combining metaphoric pieces of the self, which are intended to be ironic commentaries on social inscription of the body.

Welcome to the Net Art Open

Welcome to the Stunned Net Art open 2004. In this the third year of the Net Art Open we have made major changes to the format of the exhibition. As in previous years in our attempt to remove curatorial bias and to present a snapshot of the state of the art an open call for entries was made and every entry which met the entry criteria was accepted. In previous incarnations we found that even with the best will in the world it was difficult for a visitor to the site to check out every entry . So we have decided to blog the current edition and to provide RSS feeds so you can follow the exhibition with your newsfeed readers.

Once again we have been overwhelmed with the quality of the work from over 70 artists and we invite you to join us in this celebration of net art now.

This exhibition has been made posible with the support of the Arts Council of Ireland.
