The Flaming Lips

Just back from the Flaming Lips. What can i say they were fantastic I won't bore with the details but suffice it to say there were giant rabbits, topless go-go dancers, blood everywhere, giant silver disco balls, hand puppets, excellent back projections and lots of magic pixie dust. Oh and they did a Kylie Minogue cover, Can't get you out of my head?
Tonight was the first day of their tour so if they're passing your way get to see them they are one of the all time classic live bands.

Time for a list - top five live performances I've seen (in no particular order because I'm too indecisive to rank them)

1.Rage against the machine, Tivoli Theatre Dublin (1993! I've seen them a lot since and they are always good but that gig is a legend)
2.Flaming Lips & Cornelius, Olympia Dublin (tonight was also in there but the Cornelius support slot tipped it over)
3.Red Hot Chili Peppers & Moby (in his trash metal phase - Moby can rock) Forest National Brussels
4.Sparklehorse supporting Mazzy Star in VKs Brussels (I love mazzy Star but they were never a great live act, Mark from Sparklehorse was in a wheelchair, I was hooked after the first song)
5. Hole in Brussels Luna Theater '95 - ended with an epic cover of She's lost Control which was pretty apt -I've never seen a concert like it.
