The Coastal Oregon Productivity Enhancement Program
Initiated in 1987, the Coastal Oregon Productivity Enhancement Program (COPE) Program is a cooperative effort among the College of Forestry at Oregon State University (OSU), the USDA Forest Service Pacific Northwest Research (PNW) Station, the USDI National Biological Service (NBS) and Bureau of Land Management (BLM), other federal and state agencies, forest industry, county and city governments, and the Oregon Small Woodlands Association. The intent of the program is to provide resource managers and the public with information on management of fish, timber, water, wildlife, and other resources of the Oregon Coast Range. To find effective ways to manage these diverse resources collectively, the COPE Program has integrated research, education, and scientific disciplines.

Department of Bioresource Engineering
The mission of the bioresource engineering program is to serve at the interface of life sciences and engineering. Bioresource engineering is the application of life science principles and problem-solving techniques to the optimum use and sustainability of biological resources. Our graduate curriculum is engineering-based with strong emphasis on the life sciences. The department concentrates its research and extended education efforts on two major thrusts; bioprocess engineering, and hydrologic engineering. Department of Crop and Soil Science
Instruction is involved primarily in the production and improvement of field crop species - in growing, protecting, developing, and improving plants which supply the world population's food, livestock feed, seed industrial raw materials, soil and watershed protection, lawns, turf, and wildlife crops. Courses integrate the scientific principles of soil science, physics, chemistry, botany, and genetics as the student deals with theories and practrices of crop management and improvement.
Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering
In 1897 Electrical Engineering students were recorded at Oregon Agricultural College. Nine years later, in 1906, Electrical Engineering was officially introduced and finally accredited by ECPD in 1937. Since 1949 Electrical Engineering has been housed in Dearborn Hall, and expanded in 1986 to the Electrical and Computer Engineering building.

Forestry Sciences Lab
The Forestry Sciences Laboratory is steeped in collaboration. The building is owned and adminstered by the USFS Forest and Range Experiment Station, but it sits on land owned by Oregon State University and houses about two thirds of the OSU Forest Science Department, and a major National Biological Service research group. We work closely with the OSU College of Forestry and many other OSU departments including Fisheries & Wildlife, Botany, Entomology, and Soils.
