route Irish
Update: I just wanted to clarify that the screening is next Wednesday which is the 7th not today which is the 31st, I think I put my clock on a week instead of back an hour.
Route Irish the new feature length documentary about the campaign(s) against Irish facilitation of the Invasion of Iraq will be screened for the first time publicly Wednesday 7th November in Seomra Spraoi, 3 Mary’s Abbey, (Off Capel Street) Dublin 1. Essential viewing if you’re interested in what’s happening in this country and the US military’s use of Shannon is one story the main stream media doesn’t cover. I notice from the screenshots it includes minister Eamon Ryan of the Green Party back in the days when he against US military use of Shannon, almost makes you nostalgic for the days when the Greens had principles.

Hapoel Kiryat Shalom
Israeli football club Hapoel Kiryat Shalom has turned over management of the team to 8,000 fans who pick the team, decide tactics and even make substitutions during games via the clubs website. The experiment has lasted two matches so far both of which the team lost. Hmmm maybe it’d work for Ireland 5 million idiots running the team instead of just one.

Benjamin Gaulon’s (aka Recyclism) de Pong game will be shown this Friday and Saturday at the Globe on Georges 7-10pm. it’s a rare opportunity to see it in Dublin so make sure to check it out. 250,000 youtubers can’t be wrong, can they?

The recently launched EcoScope, a participatory telematic forum focusing on environmental issues, is the latest in a series of projects involving the environment, public participation, and tactical media from the International art collective Transnational Temps. It’s currently being featured in the Ecomedia exhibition at the Edith Russ Haus fur Medienkunst in Oldenburg, Germany.

dface
D∗face banknote 2005 vs Jake and Dinos Chapman Frieze Art Fair 2007
Graffiti artist D∗Face is less then impressed at the Chapmans’ latest stunt which is wowing the punters at Frieze. As you can see their defaced twenty pound note bears a remarkable similarity to his 2005 work, this resemblance becomes even more striking when you learn that he also pasted 5ft posters of the Queen’s defaced image on a £20 around Whitechapel, including Fournier Street, where the Chapman Brothers have a studio space.
