Andy Warhol & Lou Reed
A fantastic collection of photos by Allan Tannenbaum of New York in the seventies, from the days before we learned to hate America because of their freedom, grrr freedom.
And in keeping with the seventies theme the official website of the Go-Go boot mailing list We are a diverse group, all sharing a common enthusiasm for women’s boots, and the women who wear them, a diverse group with very specific interests.

biggles
In my mis-spent youth I read more Biggles books then is considered healthy, for those of you spared that pleasure Biggles (Capt Bigglesworth) was a British colonial boys-own-adventurer type who flew around the world teaching foreigners a lesson in many different exotic locations. He was a ‘confirmed bachelor’ who travelled the world with his mates Algy and Bertie generally leading a lifestyle that I assume got the books in trouble with Thatcher’s section 28. There is now an exhaustive Biggles Information web site which lists all the books with their covers, all illustrations and plot summaries. How I ended up as a peace-loving lefty who disapproves of empires and colonialism in general I’ll never know.

New evidence from an archeological find in China backs up some long held Creation science beliefs.

At Tuppenceworth they’re running a campaign to object to the erection of railings in the front portico of the Four Courts in Dublin. The Four Courts is a beautiful building and it’s quite extraordinary that they would try and make such a half assed addition to it and that’s even before you take into consideration the implications of railing off such a symbol of Irish Justice.
