I’m going to be on Spin 103.8 FM radio this afternoon after 2 talking about the Bono probability positioning system and Ireland on Sunday gave the site a write yesterday – I didn’t see it but anyone who did get I’d appreciate a copy.
My photos from the anti-Bush protests in Dublin on Friday where 20,000 people turned out to tell Bush he wasn’t welcome. More from Indymedia.ie
Some old stuff that I missed but is worth posting anyway:
A rare interview with Kevin Shields ( my bloody valentine ) my favourite quote
But in 1997 he told a website his long absence was due to mental illness. “Ah,” he says, “but I didn’t say whose mental illness.”
It includes a link to this unofficial My Bloody Valentine website – last updated in 1995!
Another old link to the Phantom FM top 100 albums of all time but you can never have too many lists, can you?
You may have noticed that I’ve been messing with the arts news recently, I dumped the old service from Moreover.com after they starting putting ads in the feed – it wasn’t great anyway – but now I’m using a xml to javascript converter combined with a huge selection of art news (and other news) feed from news is free I should be able to get a better selection of news topics all for your edutainment.
This weekend George Bush “President” of the US visits Ireland. Lets show him he’s not welcome.

Brian Maguire head of fine art in NCAD member of Aosdana called the police after receiving a shipment of decommissioned AK-47s imported from the British Ministry of defence by an MA student for an art project. The student who says that McGuire had been informed about the guns now faces a disciplinary hearing. You’ve got to wonder did he really think that
1. a student would be able to source AK-47s
2. if he did he would post them
3. to his professor at art college
It’s great to know that the education of a future generation of Irish artists is in safe hands.
Another top 100 British albums list for you to get hot and bothered over. My beef is that Van Morrisson, Thin Lizzy and My Bloody Valentine are, of course, Irish. The message board is also quite amusing

Ever get the feeling that the Government are getting worried about Bush’s visit? The Broadcasting Commission of Ireland has banned TV and radio ads for the When Bush comes to Shove anti war benefit gig. As a direct result it has been moved from the point depot to Vicar street and will now be on two nights the 19th and the 20th.
